Setting a standard for early years nutrition

We know that the food children eat, and the habits they develop around food in their early years, set the pattern for the rest of their lives. We also know that the amount of time children spend in childcare has increased due to the pressures of modern life and the need for parents to juggle work and family commitments. The important role of early years settings in providing the right nutrition and laying the foundations of a healthy habits is therefore greater than ever – to provide children with the best possible start in life and give parents confidence in the care their children receive.

The EYN Partnership is working to improve the future health outcomes of young children by setting a standard for nutrition practice in early years settings. Our EYN Partnership Quality Mark will help identify the early years settings that are meeting appropriate standards. Find out more about our Quality Mark award here.
